APPEARANCE! A somewhat narrow face to a square jaw with brown hair and green eyes. Most often in a tailored suit and wool coat. His eyes constantly scan the room, always watching with an uncanny intensity. He will often wear sunglasses to hide just exactly what he's looking at. He carries himself with perfect posture and walks with very deliberate purpose. It's almost like he marches everywhere. He stands with his back to the wall and his eyes on the door. It's rare he ever lets his guard down long enough to relax and slouch. Hidden underneath his clothes are an impressive collection of scars. Some are from childhood, most from from his time in special forces. Each one shows that his life has not always been easy, in fact it's been quite hard. It's rare he lets people see himself without some sort of clothing on and he often refuses to talk about it with any stranger that just happens to get a look at them somehow.
PERSONALITY! Devon is a quiet man, very quiet. He doesn't talk much but when he does each word is measured and careful. He is straight forward in conversation and gets to the point. He doesn't waste time with flowery words or jokes. He spends most of his time listening to other people around him and filing away any important bits of information he learns. While talking is rare, it's even more rare to hear him laugh. He occasionally cracks a smile but only around friends when he actually manages to relax. When he does make a joke it is often harsh and sarcastic. He can be very hard to make friends with because of how closed off he can be. He is incredibly observant, obsessive, and disciplined. He is also very quietly intelligent. He can adapt to a situation very quickly but tends to over analyze when it comes to personal decisions. His trust his hard won but his loyalty is almost endless. Devon is prone to blaming himself for things that are outside of his control. He is aware of his problems, both with his personality and his mental health, and he's trying his best to get help for them even though some days it's the hardest thing in the world for him to do.
BIOGRAPHY! His past is a fairly average story: his family was poor, his father a drunk, and his teenage years somewhat wild. He doesn't talk about it because it seems like ages since he was that person. It's almost like another life. With very few options after high school, Devon joined the military where he actually excelled. Something about the discipline, the routine, it focused his energy and attention and intelligence. Devon turned out to be a very, very good soldier. After getting through basic training he was promoted to special operations training and continued to flourish. He learned to be a decent person, moral and upstanding and good. He learned to give a damn about more than himself. He learned to be part of something and part of a bigger cause. All of that was crushed on a top secret mission. Devon was captured by the enemy, tortured, and interrogated. During his time, he suffered a great deal of physical and mental abuse. He never cracked, even as he inched closer and closer to death's door. Then he was rescued but he wasn't the same soldier and just couldn't believe like he used to. He left the Army, willingly went to therapy for his PTSD and found a job working for the MI5 to guard the royal family. He does his job very well but lives a very isolated personal life. He lives with his cat, Ashbury, and likes to take long jogs when it's raining out.
